
Movers and shakers: Since taking office in January, Clinton has always gone far beyond the speechmaking, tree-planting, and handshaking typical of foreign secretaries the world over. She has brought to her position a certain joie de vivre rarely, if ever, displayed by her predecessors and displays a gusto that is increasingly not only accepted but rather expected of her. In a continent that remembers her fondly as a first lady, Clinton is a major celebrity.
