The Dear Leader is known to lend his guidance to factory workers and management, always stressing the importance of cutting-edge technology as a cornerstone of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's inevitable pupation into a great power. Of course, with an estimated GDP of $40 billion -- about the size of South Dakota's output -- North Korea still has a long way to go. In this series of photos released by North Korean state media over the past several months after a long period of few appearances, Kim Jong Il, in trademark sunglasses and fur hat, makes the rounds -- his entourage never far behind. Here Kim poses with comrades during his inspection of the Rakwon Machine Complex in North Pyongan province on Jan. 26.
