Pumping Iron in Kabul

Images of Afghanistan's bodybuilders as they compete for the ultimate prize.

Weightlifting was introduced to Afghanistan in the 1960s thanks to the international popularity of muscle-celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Since the fall of the Taliban in 2001, it has become one of Afghanistan's most popular sports. The pinnacle of the country's bodybuilding competitions is the annual Mr. Afghanistan pageant, but smaller contests are held year-round. Above, a competitor flexes outside a regional bodybuilding contest held in Kabul on April 19.

They have fantastic physiques

They have fantastic physiques I wonder how far some of them could go if they were able to consume as many calories as the top professional Body builders.
It must be difficult training in a gym in that heat with nothing to cool you apart from fluids.
