A medical worker stands outside the entrance to the Wangjialing coal mine in China's northern Shanxi province, where more than 110 workers were pulled out alive on April 5 after the mine flooded. It was reported that some of the miners survived by eating tree bark, and at least one miner strapped himself to the wall with a belt.

Tough Job

Mining is a very dangerous

Mining is a very dangerous job. There are so many miners who died because of their job, especially because of accident during their duty. I don't think we could still stop this kind of work, however, at least the government must do something to support the welfare of miners.Jackie

The Dangers of coal mining

Mechanized longwall mining systems are used in underground coal mines. In this mining system, a great deal of coal dusts and/or rock dusts are produced. The majority of those dusts can be removed by water spray and gravitational sedimentation.lexmark compatible ink However it !s difficult to remove fine particles though these particles have serious physiological effect for the workers. Therefore, this center is researching the behavior of fine particles which suspends in ventilation air and developing the dust suppression technology.
