Bicentennial Blues

It's Mexico's 200th, but amidst flooding and drug cartel violence, is it the right time to be celebrating?

Poor Journalism

1. Let me turn the question around this way: If september 11 had happened on July 1st of 2001, should Americans celebrate Independence day? The answer is "Yes." Despite of the fight against drug cartels and the flooding, Independence Day is a time for remembering those who fought to bring freedom from Spain just as America broke off from England. Two hundred years as a sovereign nation, though one full of corruption and Idiosyncrasies, should be celebrated by a people who despite all the bad reputation and poor image given by the press, many times for political reasons, are still proud of their nation and their heritage.

2. Alfonso Lastras Stadium is not in Guadalajara, Jalisco but in San Luis Potosi, SLP.
