With nearly twice as many killings as last year and violence spreading across the country, 2010 was the worst year on record for Mexico's hyperbrutal drug war.

Ever since Mexican President Felipe Calderón promised to start cracking down on his country's vicious drug cartels in 2006, drug-related violence has been responsible for over 30,000 deaths. 12,500 people have lost their lives in 2010 alone.
