Shake It Up

Cairo's spray-painted walls are still ablaze with revolutionary fervor, but Egypt's youth isn't only angry at Mubarak anymore.

BY TY MCCORMICK | SEPTEMBER 27, 2011

A stenciled image of recently deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is seen above on a storefront close to the American University in Cairo, just off Tahrir Square, in a photo taken Sept. 17. The red beret is a subtle reminder that Mubarak came from the same military background as the generals now ruling Egypt.

There Should Be Peace

What does the future hold for Egypt now, I wonder if there will truly ever by peace. Or is it a case that there just needs to be some fundamental changes?

More art

My favorites were near Hureyas cafe: "I want to see another President before I die"; the coptic cross mixed with Islamic crescent you can see all around; or down in Luxor there is American slogans like "Live Free or Die" and "Dont Tread on Me" sprayed around.

Change takes time

Very cool graffiti art, but lets be honest with ourselves here...just because Mubarak is gone, does not mean that things will be better. Sometimes living under a dictator is better than the anarchy and power struggle that occurs after the downfall of a long standing regime. Lets hope that they can get their act together and move forward with things....the worst place to be is in between. I would not want to own any realty in Egypt right now. It is still a little too unstable for me.
