the sane ones will never be allowed to rise to the top. The prospects most likely to succeed are seriously scary - and most likely to guarantee the Obama retains his current address - and policies. No matter which way we turn, we all lose - again.
Unfortunately, the GOP (which now stands for the Get Obama Party) has been reduced to reflexively and vehemently opposing anything that the president proposes, says, thinks, or even mutters under his breath. While this is terrible for the nation, it actually is a boon to the republican contenders, as it relieves them of the burden of actually having to think independently (to quote Brittany Spears, "Thinking is HARD!")
While this is probably unintended, it has had the effect of turning the GOP into avowed Marxists. Fortunately for the rest of us, they have become Groucho Marxists, and this can be shown in their new (old) campaign anthem "I'm Against It!". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtMV44yoXZ0
Unfortunately, based on the response of Democrats to the Republican strategy and attacks, I'm beginning to believe that "thinking is HARD!" applies to Dem responses to policyas well.
