Ask any criminologist and you'll get the same answer: deterrence works. It works for both the offender who'll have to think twice next time and for the population at-large who'd not want to face the offender's fate. Gone the Mad Dog, the Mad Basenjis across Sub-Saharan Africa are shaking their tails with fear and a recurring question: who's next? Answer: all of them! Sanctions alone will not deter criminal behavior. Just look at the tons of documents and resolutions the United Nations has issued condemning those I've coined "little devils in human shape" or dictators. They're still hanging there. The Mugabes, Kagames, Musevenis, Kabilas, Biyas, etc. have found ways to get away with it. However, when we punish them, put them in cage for public display, those mad Basenjis find a reason to worry and to have nightmares. There are four good reasons to get rid of African dictators and tyrants and incarcerate them: (1) to punish them for the un-mensch manners; (2) to protect humankind because those guys are really a threat to world security; (3) to treat them since most of them have shown signs of severe feeble-mindedness and severe addictions, including the worst of all: power addiction; (4) rehabilitate them as long as we can transform them from little devils in human shape into real mensch.

Days are gone for the Mad Dog, days will soon be gone for Africa's Mad Basenjis as well!

Trials reveal much not only about about actus reus (the criminal act (s)) but also about mens rea, meaning the criminal mind. I wish I could observe African despots in court to answer two basic questions any criminologist would try to answer: why they did it and why most of us human beings do not do those stupid things?

Anyway, we're still have some more despots in inventory in Black Africa, excessively and fearfully aligned while waiting for their times to be pushed out. Let's have them first stand trial to learn more about mens rea, that very criminal mind, then decide which deterring punishment they deserve.

The Libyan revolution has completed the reshape of the power geography of north-east Africa that the overthrow of Tunisia's Ben Ali and Egypt's Hosni Mubarak initiated so dramatically almost one year ago. The emergence of contiguous transitional authorities in Tunisia, Libya and Egypt opens a regional front of new political entities that, supposedly, are representing the hopes of the wider populations.

It seems like Qaddafi really took a turn for the worse the older he got. He looked like a normal human being when he was younger, but as he aged, he got worse and worse. It almost looks like he was possessed towards the end. It is good for the people of Libya that this monster is out of power and that he is no longer in control. It is a shame that he is not around to deal with the crimes of his past. Death is the easy way out for this type of tyrant....especially without knowing how to get clear skin or a clear conscience. May the people of Libya find peace and get on with their lives. This is a deciding time right now as they go through changes and lets hope and pray that they do not have another dictator in charge ever again.

During the year 2005, in Paris, he was blamed to do the act of beating up a pregnant girlfriend and in 3 years after that incident, in Geneva, he was taken into custody for committing an assault towards his 2 helpers.
Khamis Gaddafi: He became a Police officer and was believed to be in charge of the Benghazi’s strong repression on the latest objections.
Mutassim Gaddafi: Mutassim, Gadaffi’s fourth son, is now the National Security Advisor and also own Libyan Army unit commander.
Saïf al-Arab Gaddafi: He has been a former student of Munich and had been issued in 2008 Telegraph articles for having been confiscated with his car by the German police due to very loud and noisy exhaust.
Milad Abuztaia Gaddafi: He is an adopted son and a nephew of Gaddafi. He has been a hero of the life of Gaddafi during the US bombing in their compound.
Saadi Gaddafi: He is the leader of the Libyan Football Federation and is now a producer of the film industry.
Hannah Gaddafi: Gaddafi’s adopted daughter. She was 15 years old back in 1986 when she was killed during the US bombing of their compound.

Almost everyone loves their own family but few of them who could love their enemies. It is tragic to see a mighty Qaddafi became a victim of atrocities that violate human rights. Although he made ??many mistakes during his reign, he did not deserve to be treated like animals.

looks like every one of those blaming Qaddfi for his demonic nature has a personal intelligence report on Lybia, the whole world and everything being put on the table every morning for at least 10 last years. If Nato or the US is going to help bomb Libya to get rid of it's leader because of the "crimes against it's own people" then they need to do the same with the other mideast countries that are doing the exact same thing if not worse especially Syria.

Judging from the bulky radio and what appears to be a photo of Qaddafi and Poland's last communist leader, General Wojciech Jaruzelski in the upper right of photo 29, this is probably in the mid- to late 1980s? My daughter and I was checking for portable printers for netbooks when I discovered this site. The picture of Qadaffi reminds me of the bonding time I had with my daughter when she was younger.

It is nice to see that these leaders are quickly being dealt with. Hopefully this world can see some peace in the near future.
