The World in Photos

An elephant fair, a slum fire, and the world in protest.

NOVEMBER 18, 2011

A New York City police officer scuffles with Occupy Wall Street protesters after they were evicted from Zuccotti Park on Nov. 15. Hundreds of police in riot gear dismantled the Occupy Oakland camp the day before, evicting and arresting protesters in the second such U.S. move in as many days as authorities get tough against the two-month-old protest movement.

Not sure if he's on the right side

Is he even on the right side? What's the average starting salary of an NYC cop. 50k? 70k? Maybe he should be picketing wall street and the salary discrepancies too

Anger Management

Could that guy in the pic be any angrier. Maybe he needs to learn yoga and get calm.

funniest picture ever

Great first picture here...that guy looks so irate. I bet he was waiting for weeks to tear into the occupy wall street protesters and this is the face of finally getting that chance. Would love to have seen the video of this with a d800...hopefully this is the end of all of these silly protests.

Not quite the funniest picture ever

There was a picture circulated around of that guy hitting someone I actually know- the cop deserves a metal, because I can't think of many people more deserving of a serious cop beat down!

Slum fire

It's devastating when you see a fire cause such destruction like this - especially when these people having almost nothing in the first place. We worked in Dhaka, Bangladesh when we were helping some of the locals get careers in travel so I know this area well. Let's hope they get back on their feet quickly.

Training for cops

The whole occupy movement is so interesting. An then these cops, who have basically been through police car driving instructor training and had a few hand gun classes and not much else are now sent in to move 'without force' a bunch of protesters. How do they do that? Are they trained to do that? I doubt it. Funny picture thanks for posting it.

A reflection of human nature

These pictures are great. They remind us who we are. Some of the pictures show the worst of humanity. While others make you smile and remember the good that is there too. I see this everyday when I try to show people how to build an email list. Some people are blind and angry with themselves and others are open and understanding. These pictures are a great reflection of human nature. Thank you.
