England has become a hotspot in the battle over immigration in recent years, with xenophobic groups confronting and intimidating immigrant communities -- particularly, Muslim ones -- with insults, attacks, and protests. However, as Spike Johnson reports for Foreign Policy, Mosquebusters, a.k.a. the Law and
Freedom Foundation, has picked a less public venue to wage their war on Islam. The group, Johnson writes, has "a quieter, perhaps more insidious approach: in offices and
city halls, they are crafting technical legal cases against mosque construction
applications across the country. It's a war against Islam, but one that often
resembles a bureaucratic turf battle more than a clash of civilizations."
Above, the logo of anti-Islamist group Mosquebusters, adapted from the logo of the film "Ghostbusters." The logo is a caricature of Abu Hamza, who was convicted on six accounts of inciting the murder of non-Muslims in 2004.
