The capital's worst rainfall in 60 years caused massive floods and destruction.

Sixteen hours of heavy downpour over the weekend left the city of Beijing waist-deep in a massive flood that affected nearly 2 million people and claimed the lives of at least 37. The damage has triggered outrage on Chinese social media platforms about inadequate warning mechanisms and insufficient drainage in China's capital city.
