Thousands of opponents of President
Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner gathered in middle- and upper-class
neighborhoods around the Argentine capital and other cities, banging cooking pots in a noisy protest (called a "cacerolazo") against Kirchner's bid to run for a third term. Kirchner, 59, is currently barred by the Argentine constitution from running for a third consecutive term, but her
supporters in Congress have been lobbying for a constitutional
amendment allowing her to make a bid for reelection. Above, an aerial view of protesters in Cordoba on Nov. 8.
