  Afghan President Hamid Karzai arrived in Washington, D.C., this week to discuss the continued transition in Afghanistan with U.S. President Barack Obama. In this photo taken on Jan. 10, Karzai participates in a military ceremony welcoming him to the Pentagon in Arlington, Va. This week, former Afghan presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah wrote in Foreign Policy that the Karzai government is a major obstacle standing in the way of Afghanistan's success. And retired Lt.
