MARCH 29, 2013

A picture released by the North Korean Central News Agency on March 29 shows North Korean leader Kim Jong Un convening an urgent operation meeting at 12:30 a.m. at an undisclosed location, in which he ordered strategic rocket forces to be on standby to strike U.S. and South Korean targets at any time. Kim's order followed two U.S. B-2 stealth bombers' first-ever drill over the Korean Peninsula the previous day. The North condemned the fly-over as U.S. hostility. David Kang and Victor Cha argue that North Korea is much more dangerous than most people think; see their case here.
