Colombia is the only country that allows aerial fumigation
of drug crops. Engle mentions
that communities living next to coca crops strongly oppose the policy. They
claim that the glyphosate that government planes spray onto coca fields
negatively impacts trees, animals, and rivers in surrounding areas.
