Cambodian opposition leader Sam Rainsy arrives at Freedom Park in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on July 19. Rainsy, the leader of the Cambodia National Party, has been in exile since 2009. His return to Cambodia follows a pardon that was granted last week by King Norodom Sihamoni after threats from U.S. lawmakers to cut off aid if upcoming elections were deemed unfair. The elections will be held on July 28 and will be the fifth parliamentary poll since the United Nations brokered a peace deal for Cambodia in 1991.
